RHU Rosales gets cease & desist order

PDF Print E-mail

Three years after we started to operate on a 24 hour 7 days a week operation, we have received a letter reprimand questioning and advising the closure of our operation coming from the Center for Health Development-Ilocos of the Department of Health duly signed by Valeriano V. Lopez, Jr., MD, MPH, MHA.

Apparently their letter posted below questions the operation of our RHU as a hospital where as quoted from their letter we offer services of General Medicine, General Pedia, General Surgery and General OB-Gyne. As such we need to secure an appropriate license, sad to note the pre-requisites for the license is to have a separate funding for the operation of a hospital, completely new medical team to man and a separate building. Indubitably the requirements are quite hard to meet beside from budgetary constraints financial assistance from other elective officials for sustainability is necessary.

Upon the other hand, when we opened our doors three years ago the prime purpose of the project is to be a maternity clinic as its title Lying In clinic. Nevertheless as months passed and as a lot of patients surge our RHU with different ailments we did not mind overdoing things with the thought of making our services better. Unfortunately though with our provisions of additional medicines and doctors to be of better service the project remained to be questioned.

In this light therefore, the LGU Rosales will be forced to close its doors to the confinement of patients who are not to give birth rather they will be readily transferred to the community hospital in Tayug regardless of our competence to treat them.
